Hi Kevin, it’s Vanessa. I just want you to know our thoughts and prayers are with you! If you need anything I’m here, I mean that. Sending so much healing energy and positive thoughts your way!
Thanks Vanessa. It’s great hearing from you. I know you can understand some of the challenges I’m going through with you and your husband’s medical experience. I ‘m sure you both are enjoying your cute little one. You will appreciate this, I’m doing cancer yoga and reiki at the hospital.
Hi Kevin, I’m Brenda Glenn, one of Henry Vinsinger’s daughters. My dad was a friend of your grandmother, Katherine. I have been reading your blog and I’m so impressed with your strength, both physical and mental, that you have maintained throughout your illness.
I saw the picture you posted of the statue of Christ, with the scripture on the base. That verse has been an integral part of my life since an Episcopal priest spoke it during a service. In the Episcopal prayer book it reads “Come unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you”. What stood out to me was the priests’ emphasis on WILL, not maybe, not we’ll see, but absolutely, positively Christ was saying “I WILL refresh you”. And he Will.
Also, a funny story about your loving, zany extended family! My father attended a Wein bash, I think a graduation party of a grandchild, where tasks were assigned to some partygoers to facilitate the event. My father, who had very low vision, was given the role of “parking attendant” with official clipboard and all! It was so kind (and funny!) that he was included, with his near-blindness not even addressed! He got a big kick out of it!
My prayers and positive thoughts are with you……
Brenda
Thank you for the wonderful message. I like that verse as well and find it rather appropriate for me. I remember your father at the graduation party, what a fun time and he was the best parking attendant we’ve ever had at any of our gatherings. He was a dear friend to my grandmother and she still talks about him. I hope you and your sisters are doing well.
